Polyglot Theatre
Title of Performance: Voice Lab
Country: Australia
Voice Lab is Polyglot's creative module for listening to the thoughts and opinions of children. Voice Lab pays close attention to what children think, feel and say, enabling their ideas to be shared to make positive change. Voice Lab can operate in a physical or online mode. In the physical mode, children are invited one at a time into a beautiful, serene dome. The online version takes place over Zoom and offers children the opportunity to engage from wherever they are in the world. In each of these private spaces children have a conversation with Voice Lab - an innocent, uninformed AI character voiced by an invisible, live performer, that asks questions, encourages opinion and regards the child as the expert.
During CultureCrew Festival, Polyglot will share a 6-minute recorded pitch describing what Voice Lab is, showing excerpts of the work and a demonstration of how the online module captures voices.
